Pennant happy in Spain

Pennant happy in Spain

Real Zaragoza winger Jermaine Pennant insists he is happy in Spain after being linked with a return to the Premier League with Aston Villa.

Pennant only joined Zaragoza in the summer on a free transfer from Liverpool, but is a reported January target of Villa boss Martin O'Neill.

However, the 26-year-old is enjoying his time in La Liga and is looking forward to a run in the Zaragoza team after a recent hamstring injury.

He signed a three-year contract upon joining Zaragoza and Pennant says he is not looking to secure an early escape from his Spanish challenge.

"I am very happy in Spain, I feel settled, relaxed and am fully recovered from the slight hamstring pull," Pennant told skysports.com .

"I'm looking forward to establishing myself in La Liga and helping my team be successful.

"I love it here, I can't imagine playing anywhere else at the moment."

Prior to moving to Spain, Pennant enjoyed the second half of last season on loan at Portsmouth and he has also had spells at Arsenal and Birmingham City after starting his career at Notts County.
