Serbia coach Radomir Antic believes Branislav Ivanovic would be an ideal signing for Real Madrid.
The Chelsea defender has been targeted by Real as a January signing to cover for the loss of their Portugal international Pepe, who is expected to be out injured for the rest of the season.
Chelsea are ready to hand Ivanovic a new contract to head off Real's interest, but the Spanish giants are set to press ahead with a move for the Serbia international, 25, and are thought to be weighing up a Ј10million bid.
Antic has coached several top Spanish sides, including Real, and reckons Ivanovic would be worth every penny.
Ability"He is very physical and is always composed," said Antic. "He has the ability to play for Real Madrid."
Ivanovic joined Chelsea for Ј9.7million from Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2007 and after making a slow start at Stamford Bridge, he has established himself as a key man for the Blues over the past 12 months.
He has made 28 international appearances for Serbia and is expected to be a key figure in Antic's squad for next summer's World Cup finals.
