Casillas - No time to settle

Casillas - No time to settle

Iker Casillas believes the demands at Real Madrid are so high that there is no time for the team to gel with their new recruits without being criticised.

The Spain goalkeeper admits that he and Real's other galaxy of stars are still learning about big-money summer arrivals Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo, and how best to integrate them into their side.

It is a steep learning curve that the team has to climb because there is constant pressure at Santiago Bernabeu to succeed.

Real have made an impressive start to the 2009/10 campaign in terms of results, with their latest buys seemingly settling in quickly, but some performances have already been criticised for their lack of entertainment.

"The team is in the gelling stage, but there is never time at Real Madrid and every day there is an aspect that receives criticism," Casillas told the club's official website .

"The players must get to know one another. Kaka and Cristiano are good, but we need to figure out how they want the ball, how they pass it.

"It happens to me, too. I have to know if I need to be fast in giving it to a player, if it needs to be a short or long pass. It all comes together as we play more matches."
