Capel talks delayed

Capel talks delayed

Sevilla will not be discussing a possible contract extension with Diego Capel until the end of the season.

The Spanish outfit had been in talks with the winger regarding the possibility of a new deal for some time.

However, with stalemate having set in, it has been decided to place the situation on standby until next summer.

Capel's current contract runs until 2011, so Sevilla are in no rush to push fresh terms through.

"We have rarely met over the course of the last few months because the situation has not changed," said Capel's agent Pedro Bravo.

"Now any decision rests with Sevilla."

Matured

Capel, who is believed to be holding out for a long-term agreement, is refusing to let contract talks distract him from his game and insists he is happy to let the situation lie for now.

"I have played over 100 games for the first-team and I am very happy with Sevilla," he said.

"During my time here I have matured and I really enjoy playing for this club.

"I have no problem with the contract talks as I prefer to live day to day."
