Real Madrid have confirmed that Christoph Metzelder will be out for at least three weeks with a calf injury.
The defender picked up the problem in training prior to Real's 5-2 UEFA Champions League win over FC Zurich.
The German international has made just one appearance so far this season and the injury will only further frustrate the 28-year-old.
The Real medical staff have pencilled in the away clash with Getafe on November 1st as a possible comeback date.
Therefore Metzelder is likely to miss up to six La Liga matches as well as two Champions League matches at home to both Marseille and Milan.
