Depor eye Dos Santos deal

Deportivo La Coruna coach Miguel Angel Lotina has confirmed the club's interest in Tottenham winger Giovani Dos Santos.

Dos Santos, who is set for a rare first-team opportunity against Preston in the Carling Cup on Wednesday, has struggled to establish himself at White Hart Lane since his arrival from Barcelona in the summer of 2008.

The Mexican international is well down the pecking order in Harry Redknapp's plans and his only first-team appearance this term came in the Carling Cup win at Doncaster.

The 20-year-old is thought to be interested in a move as he searches for regular first-team football ahead of next summer's World Cup finals with Mexico.

Lotina is an admirer of Dos Santos and is keen to bring the former Barcelona ace back to Spain.

"Giovani is the sort of player that the club needs at the moment," Lotina the Spanish media.

"It is a complicated deal but we hope we can reach an agreement with Tottenham."
