Milan defender Kakhaber Kaladze insists a win against Scudetto rivals Inter is of the utmost importance if his side are to keep their title hopes alive.
The Derby della Madonnina showdown takes place on Sunday, and anything less than a win for the Rossoneri could see them wave arrivederci to any hopes they still harbour of winning the league championship.
Milan have not won the title since 2004 and they cannot bear to see Inter lift it again. As a result, Kaladze has taken the first steps in firing the team up.
"The most important thing is to win the game on Sunday,” the stopper told Milan Channe l. “We are in a difficult situation but the race will be back on if bag three points.
"Inter are a great team and they are doing really. Milan know how to express themselves better against the bigger teams, though.
"We beat them in the reverse [fixture], but we have lost points in matches we should have won. They will also play to win and so it will be a hard fought game and very interesting."
Carlo Ancelotti's men are currently lagging behind the Nerazzurri by eight points. Their title hopes hinge on the result of Sunday's game, which could see the Scudetto race could be narrowed down to just a two horse race if Milan lose.
