Capello Satisfied With Spain Test

Fabio Capello believes that he learnt several lessons from England's encounter with Spain in Sevilla and was pleased to be able to see first-hand what physical level his players are at.

The Three Lions' manager stated after the reverse, which came thanks to goal from David Villa and Fernando Llorente, that his team had no had a reality check and that they could take things away from the match.

Spain's system of play was something that Capello wanted to see his players tested against as they had to chase the ball for long periods and stay organised under the pressure.

"It was not a reality check. For me it was a important game and to know some players for when we have to play against sides with a style that Spain have," Capello told ITV.

"I have learnt a lot. When teams play with one forward and lots of midfielders and we have problems to play the ball."

Despite not being unhappy with the performance, Capello admitted that his team had to do better and cut out the mistakes, with the emphasis being on the errors for the first Spain goal.

"We can do better. I am sorry about theresult, because the first goal was a mistake," he continued.

"We played okay, but it as important to see what level we are at now, not only technically but physically."
