Franck Ribery Would Be A Great Signing For Real Madrid - Lassana Diarra

Lassana Diarra has today declared he would be delighted to see French international team-mate Franck Ribery join him at Real Madrid this summer.

Ribery, who is currently at Bayern Munich, has been linked with a move to Spain for some time now but this week, Franz Beckenbauer, an influential figure at the German club, admitted the Frenchman could leave for Madrid this summer.

Whilst the player has insisted talk of a move is pure speculation, Diarra was still optimistic as he spoke about the transfer to AS today.

"Why not? He would be a great signing for the team," the defensive midfielder declared.

"Franck can play anywhere... Ribery to Madrid? It would be good."

Certainly there is no doubt that, even though they have signed Julien Faubert to play as a winger this season, Real Madrid will be hunting for a new signing next summer.

Ribery is thought to be high on the list of potential transfers, with Karim Benzema another player who could move to the Bernabeu.

Benzema, Diarra and Ribery are all in the France squad to play against Argentina this Wednesday.
