Barcelona Can Win The Copa Del Rey - Henry

France and Barcelona striker, Thierry Henry, has declared today that his side can win the Copa Del Rey this season.

Henry got his first start in the competition against Real Mallorca last night, and he made it count, scoring in the first-half with a precise header to give his side the lead.

Now, he tells Sport , that he thinks they can win it, and that it is an opportunity that should not be missed.

"We can win the Copa, and we should not waste these chances. It is a very good competition and we are so close to the end," he mused.

"These games are very difficult, teams such as Mallorca work hard at the back and try to hit you on the counter. We knew what to expect, and in the end we came out on top."

Certainly the goal from Henry came at a key time when it looked as though Barcelona would go in at the break all-square.

The striker admitted today that he was close to missing the header though.

"The goal I scored was with my head and my shoulder. The cross from Bojan [Krkic] was incredible, it was right in the centre. The truth is that I nearly missed it," he joked.

Whilst Henry was only making his first start in the Copa Del Rey last night, he has been impressive in the league, especially considering his inconsistent start with the Spanish side.

He acknowledged today that when the team is playing well and scoring it is a lot easier for everyone at the club.

"When we win, everyone enjoys it more. Everything is a lot easier and better, even at an individual level. It is no secret that when a team plays better more chances are created, and therefore, more goals are scored. At Barcelona, everyone has scored except for [Victor] Valdes and [Eric] Abidal," he mused.

The Frenchman refused to speculate on his future at the club as he spoke, but did talk about the Champions League game with Lyon briefly.

"I have been of out France for ten years, and I am fine. I have friends there, but I am with Barcelona and I want to win the Champions League," he concluded.
