Real Madrid have had a tough time with injuries this season, and they have been dealt yet another setback, as star midfielder Mahamadou Diarrà has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury.
It is a crushing blow to the club’s efforts to turn their inconsistent season around, and it is likely to force president, Ramon Calderonto enter the transfer market fora new midfielder in the upcoming January trade period.
The Mali international picked up the initial injury mid-October after suffering a knock while playing for his country against Chad, but then came back for a month, however he now faces a long period on the sidelines.
According to Firenzeviola.it, Fiorentina’s Zdravko Kuzmanovic is on the Real Madrid radar, as the Spanish club has identified him as an ideal replacement to fill the void left by Diarra.
In recent days, the agent of the player, Marko Naletilic, has declared that his client and Fiorentina were nearing a contract renewal that would see him remain at the club until 2013.
This may not be the case now however, as an offer from Madrid may be too good to refuse, as Los Merengues undoubtedly are one of the greatest clubs in the world.
