Roma Eyeing Miguel To Replace Cicinho?

To followers of the Italian transfer market, his name will not sound unfamiliar. Luis Miguel Brito Garcia Monteiro, better known by his footballing name Miguel, has often been linked to the biggest Italian clubs in the past.

The last club to show interest in the 28-year-old Valencia winger was Juventus, who were looking to sign a versatile player who could play effortlessly both in midfield and in defence last summer.

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti is looking for the same kind of player for the upcoming January transfer window. The club are following a number of players, for various positions, after a disappointing start to the season.

The Tuscan coach is looking for a player to strengthen the right side of his defence, where Cicinho has never fully convinced. According to Sky Sport, the Brazilian fullback could be on his way out, with the former Benfica man ready to fill the gap.

It must be said, however, that Cicinho has often been linked with a move away from Roma in the recent past. Although he plays frequently, he has given his share of disappointing performances since joining from Real Madrid in the summer of 2007.
