In the latest development to the Marcos Senna transfer saga, his representative has denied all the recent quotes attributed to the player, which suggested he would be interested in a move to Manchester City.
Recent reports have suggested that Senna would not be averse to a move to Eastlands, but his representative, Ely Coimbra, said, "The truth is that I cannot understand these quotes. How is it possible that someone can make up statements that say that Senna is interested in Manchester City?
"It is clear that neither Senna, nor I, have spoken with anyone from the English media. It is all outrageous. All Senna is thinking about is continuing with Villarreal."
Coimbra did admit that representatives from Manchester City had contacted him in the past, but according to him, "they called me to ask if Senna would be interested in playing in the Premiership, but we said no thanks."
"Fortunately, Villarreal and I have a great relationship, and they do not believe what is written in the English press. If I received a proposal from Manchester City or any other club, I would immediately call Jose Manuel Llaneza (a club delegate), and he would be the first to know."
For his part, Llaneza his outrage at the statements attributed to him, which first appeared in The Daily Mail, that suggested that he would be willing to negotiate a deal. Speaking about the affair, Llaneza said, "I have not spoken to anyone from The Daily Mail, or Manchester City. I am amazed at what has been published in that newspaper. There is no truth in it."
