Alfredo Di Stefano: Barcelona Will Be Scared Of The Pressure

As Real Madrid currently sit a detrimental nine points behind Primera Division leaders and fiery foes, Barcelona, many would presume that the pressure is on the capital giants to win in Saturday’s El Clasico clash to prevent the gap stretching to an unimaginable 12 points.

But Los Blancos’ legendary former player and current honorary president, Alfredo di Stefano believes that it will be the Catalans who will come under pressure when the two teams collide at the CampNou.

“Right now, Barcelona are demonstrating their quality football, their skill and their unity within the team,” he said during an interview with RNE (Radio Nacional Espanol).

“They are scoring a lot of goals but they are also conceding some. I believe that they will be scared on Saturday because it is a game with huge responsibilities.

“They have a lot at stake, and so do we, but as the visitors, we can do them a lot of harm,” he added.

Di Stefano, however, did compliment one of the opposing players and there was no surprise who it was.

“Lionel Messi is the number one player in the world because of the way he plays. He doesn’t only creates chances, he also finishes them. I wish we had him at Real Madrid,” he declared.

Turning the attention back to El Clasico, di Stefano, nicknamed El Saeta Rubia (The Blonde Arrow) refused to give his prediction of the match.

“The results cannot be predicted because I would have to be a fortune teller. Guessing the score is like playing the lottery, but my wish is for Madrid to win and nothing else,” he concluded.
