Llorente Completes Valladolid-Villarreal Switch

The Yellow Submarine will unveil the 28-year-old striker on Tuesday at 12:30pm at El Madrigal stadium.

The Basque forward signs on a Bosman deal from Valladolid, with whom he had been since 2005. Last season - his first in the Primera - saw him net a fine total of 17 goals, making him joint-seventh highest scorer in the Liga and responsible for fully a third of the Pucela's goals.

Along with his fellow netter of 17, Zaragoza's Ricardo Oliveira, he was the only one of the top ten goalscorers to be in the lower half of the table at the campaign's end.

The former Real Sociedad youth has spent the bulk of his professional career at another Basque outfit, SD Eibar, before heading west three seasons ago.

Llorente is Villarreal's second signing of the new campaign, following ex-Barcelona man Edmílson to Vila-Real.
