Everton are tracking Spanish starlet Dani Toribio, skysports.com understands.
The Toffees are closely following the 21-year-old - who has been one of the revelations of this season's La Liga campaign.
Toribio is currently with Malaga, having begun his career in Barcelona's youth ranks.
He failed to make the breakthrough at Camp Nou and was picked up by Malaga in 2009 - but he did not take long to break into their first team.
Now Toribio is attracting attention after a string of impressive displays as Malaga's holding midfielder.
Everton are understood to have watched Malaga's recent games with Espanyol, Barcelona and Real Madrid - and Toribio impressed the English scouts.
Toribio, nicknamed Rocky by his team-mates, insists he is more than happy at Malaga - where he has two-and-a-half years left on his current contract.
"I ignore the rumours and at the moment my only desire is to focus on Malaga," said Toribio.
