Bojan Krkic will not be used as bait by Barcelona in their summer quest to land Franck Ribery from Bayern Munich as he has a great future ahead of him at Camp Nou, according to the player's agent.
The 19-year-old was linked with a move to the Allianz Arena at the end of the current campaign in reports that stated the Blaugrana would hope it would give them an advantage in the race for the Frenchman's signature.
Ribery is top of Barca's wanted list but the Catalan giants know that they will have to compete with Real Madrid, Chelsea and Inter if they want to win his signature.
Krkic's representative Zoran Vekic has dismissed speculation that his client will be involved in any player-plus-cash deal.
"There is know talk between Bayern and Barca about Bojan Krkic," the Serbian agent told Fussball Transfers.
"This is all pure speculation."
Reports linking Barcelona with the world's best players is set to increase with candidates for the presidential elections in June all looking to promise a star name to help their campaign and Vekic believes it has already begun.
"These current rumours can be attributed to the elections that are due to happen soon," he added.
Under Frank Rijkaard at Barcelona the young Krkic was given a chance to play more often at the top level than he has been given since Pep Guardiola took over at the club in 2009.
His lack of first-team opportunities has led to rumours that Krkic would consider a move in order to play regularly, but that is something that he has denied on a regular basis.
