Bilic opens Prem door

Bilic opens Prem door

Mate Bilic has admitted that he is intrigued by the prospect of playing in the Premier League.

The Croatia international is reported to be attracting interest from England, with Sunderland heading the list of admirers.

The 29-year-old striker has spent the last two years in Spain with Sporting Gijon, where he has established a reputation as a regular source of goals.

Bilic insists he will give his all for his current club for as long as he remains under their employment, but admits the challenge of the Premier League appeals to him.

Sporting are known to be struggling financially and further sales appear inevitable over the summer.

Objective

Having already offloaded Michel to Birmingham City during the transfer window, there is every chance Bilic could be the latest player to be heading out of El Molinon.

"I have always had a lot of interest in the Premier League because it is a great league," he said.

"I have many friends playing in England and they have told me great things about it.

"For now my objective is to play well and to score goals for Sporting, but it is possible that something could happen in the summer."
