Alves ready for 'big' move

Alves ready for big move

Almeria goalkeeper Diego Alves admits he is hoping to secure a switch to a 'big club' in the near future.

The 24-year-old is reportedly being courted by a number of top sides, with Tottenham and Valencia believed to be among them.

The Brazilian has caught the eye in the Spanish top-flight this term, his second full season as Almeria's first-choice shot-stopper.

His valuation is said to have rocketed to Ј10million on the back of a string of impressive showings, but that is unlikely to distract his growing collection of suitors.

Alves is also widely tipped to make Brazil's World Cup squad this summer, despite being yet to make his senior bow for his country.

Dream

He was included in the squad which secured a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, but never made the field.

Alves is determined to become a major player for Brazil, though, and knows a switch to an established European giant would help to strengthen his cause.

"It is my dream to play for a really big club," he said.

"Perhaps now I am in the best form of my life and I dream of making it to the World Cup."
