Argentina striker Marco Ruben has agreed to join Wigan Athletic, according to his Spanish club Villarreal.
The 23-year-old has given a farewell interview with Villarreal's website, saying he was quickly able to agree terms with The Latics.
Ruben is now set to travel to Wigan to put pen-to-paper on the deal and he is looking forward to working with manager Roberto Martinez.
Reports are speculating Wigan could pay anywhere up to Ј7million for Ruben, who will pen a four-and-a-half-year contract at the DW Stadium.
"I found out eight or nine days ago," Ruben told the club's official website .
"Since then the club have continued with negotiations with my agent and he told me it was done and all that was needed was my signature.
"I am happy to take this opportunity because it is a good coach (Roberto Martinez) and a great team."
