Ibra 'relief' at Pep decision

Ibra relief at Pep decision

Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has spoken of his relief after manager Pep Guardiola extended his contract with the club.

Guardiola's deal was due to expire at the end of the current season but he has agreed to stay at Camp Nou until the summer of 2011.

Speculation had mounted that the former Barca midfielder could walk away from the job at the end of the campaign, and Ibrahimovic admits all the players are relaxed now he has committed his future.

"All the players wanted him to continue, because he has done an excellent job," he said.

"We'll all be much more relaxed with this news.

"I couldn't believe a club like Barcelona could let a coach like Guardiola get away."

The 39-year-old tactician has guided the Catalans to six trophies since he took control of the team in June 2008.

Barca currently lie top of La Liga and are five points above rivals Real Madrid in the title race.
