Napoli have agreed to loan Matteo Contini to Real Zaragoza for the remainder of the season.
The 29-year-old defender is due in Spain on Wednesday to undergo a medical.
Should he pass the physical examination, the Italian will then sign a six-month deal with Zaragoza.
Napoli have agreed to let Contini leave after seeing the experienced centre-half slip down the pecking order at Stadio San Paolo.
The AC Milan academy graduate has spent the last three years in Naples, but is desperate to find regular first-team football at this stage of his career.
He will join Zaragoza with the club sat second from bottom in the Primera Liga and facing an uphill battle to preserve their top tier status.
