Voro Aims To Clear First Hurdle

Voro was placed in temporary charge for the final five games of the league season following Ronald Koeman's dismissal on Monday and despite sitting just two points above the relegation zone, he believes that the players have the right frame of mind to pull themselves away from trouble.

"They are aware of the situation they are in and from there we were able to set objectives," he told reporters at a press conference on Friday.

"The message that I have tried to communicate to the players is that our current position is real, but that they are fully equipped to handle the pressure of the situation."

He went on to indicate that he is "very content with the attitude and the predisposition of the players" and that he has tried to look for the "positive aspects", as he looks to avoid "falling at the first hurdle" on Sunday.

Hedwiges Maduro and Javier Arizmendi are both doubtful for the match with Osasuna, while Voro also confirmed that he is waiting on the fitness of goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand.

"Hildebrand has done ground exercises today and tomorrow we will see if it can or cannot. He will only play if he can continue for the whole game; I don't want to be forced into a change after half an hour," he explained.

Voro has also been impressed with the attitude of Santiago Canizares, David Albelda and Miguel Angel Angulo since bringing them back into the squad, but suggested that he has doubts over their match fitness as "they have got a long time without playing competitively."
