Gerard Pique claims he would relish the opportunity to play with Spanish team-mates Fernando Torres and Cesc Fabregas at Barcelona next season.
The transfer talk throughout the summer has been dominated by Fabregas' projected move to the Camp Nou, but the Barca defender has also talked up the idea of Liverpool's star striker joining the Catalan giants.
Barca have already signed one Spain striker this summer following the capture of David Villa from Valencia.
The Catalans also paid a hefty amount to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Inter Milan last year, but the Sweden striker had a disappointing first season at the Nou Camp and new Barca president Sandro Rosell is reportedly a big admirer of Torres.
Pique believes the 26-year-old would be a great signing for the La Liga superpower but admits the deal may be a hard one to complete.
Complicated"It's complicated," said the former Manchester United centre-half.
"The operation for Fernando is a difficult one. I don't know to what extent there is interest or if it is press talk but if he came, they (Torres and Villa) would form an incredible partnership.
"They are very good players and when two good players play together, they are always compatible."
Pique has been impressed by Torres' goalscoring record at Anfield and he reckons the former Atletico Madrid performer would take the Primera Division by storm if he were to return.
"In the three years he has been there (in England), his statistics are excellent, added the 23-year-old: "He has scored loads of goals, played a lot for Liverpool and showed he has a great eye for goal.
"But we can't forget about Zlatan and Bojan (Krkic) because they are great players up front and I don't know about the (reported) interest in the footballers we have (at Barca)."
Fabregas
As for Fabregas, the Spanish central defender hopes the Arsenal midfielder will join Barca sooner rather than later.
"I don't know when he'll come, but he will. I hope it's this year. The negotiations are under way, he will cost money but we hope it happens," Pique said.
But Pique insists his Spain team-mate is not allowing himself to be distracted by the constant rumours of a possible move to the Nou Camp.
"Cesc is sufficiently mature and has a lot more experience than me in the national team. I don't need to say anything to him," he added.
