lOM close on Cesar coup

Marseille are set to seal a transfer coup by signing Spanish starlet Cesar Azpilicueta.

The Osasuna full-back has been tracked by Europe's elite, including Primera Liga titans Barcelona and Real Madrid.

In England, Premier League rivals Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea are all understood to have kept close checks on him.

However, the French champions have moved to agree a deal with Osasuna worth €7million and the player looks set to sign a four-year deal at the Stade Velodrome.

"It was a Didier Deschamps wish," Marseille general manager Antoine Veyrat confirmed to L'Equipe .

"But of course he has been overseen several times by our scouts."

Meanwhile, the club have confirmed that as part of France's Euro 2016 scheme, the Stade Velodrome will have a roof built on it, whilst also seeing its capacity increase to 67,000.
