Barca candidate in Cesc claim

A member of Sandro Rosell's presidential bid is confident Barcelona can clinch a deal for Cesc Fabregas, claiming it will be 'so easy' to sign the Arsenal captain.

Fabregas has expressed a wish to rejoin his former club this summer and recently stated he was leaving his future in the hands of Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal rejected an offer from Barcelona earlier this week and the Premier League club have insisted they have no intention of selling the 23-year-old.

However, Josep Maria Bartomeu, who will become sporting vice-president if Rosell is successful in the elections in 10 days' time, believes it will be a simple matter for Barca to sign Fabregas.

He said: "A player who was made in La Masia, who has said publicly that he wants to come to Barca, who has said so to his coach and who can count on the support of Guardiola, it seems so easy to us that whoever goes into the negotiations will find themselves in the best conditions to seal the deal.

"All the players have a price, but we can't value what Cesc's is because we would be intervening in a deal that the club are handling at present.

"The price of a player is always in relation to the number of years he has left on his contract, but in this case it seems that the wind is blowing in our favour."

Fabregas, who moved to Arsenal in 2003, has five more years on his contract with the Gunners.
