Villa Will Stay, Says Agent

The Spain international's future has been a source of conjecture after catching the eye of a number of clubs across Europe with his impressive Euro 2008 displays.

It has been speculated that Valencia's financial crisis would dictate that Los Che would be forced into selling at least one of their biggest assets.

But Valencia are not willing to let any of their stars go and are ready to break the club's wage record to reward the striker with an improved deal.

José Luis Tamargo, Villa's representative, has met with the Valencia board to discuss his client's new contract, and although an agreement has not been found as of yet, he has stressed that the Euro 2008 top goal-scorer will continue serving the club.

"There is no doubt, I can assure his stay," Tamargo said.

Tamargo added that negotiations "are going well" because the two parties are on the same page and that a new meeting is scheduled for next week, in which his new wages will be decided.

According to Villa's agent, the agreement is just a matter of time as both parties want "David to be happy here for many years", stating that there won't be any "big problems" to seal the deal as everything is going "fantastically well."
