Euro 2008 Champions Back To Work In Valencia

Despite the majority of the Valencia squad enjoying a day of rest it was not such a relaxing time for the Spaniards who played a part in the Euro 2008 triumph or Emiliano Moretti. Working to the orders of physical coach Miguel Villagrasa they trained alone in a bid to try and build up their fitness for the upcoming season.

Whilst the rest of squad has trained in Holland and played friendly matches in Germany the four Spaniards enjoyed an extended holiday. Tomorrow they will take part in a double training session with the rest of the team as manager Unai Emery continues to prepare them for the new season. His plans will no doubt have been boosted by the presence of Villa and Silva, both of whom were rumoured to be on the move after their success at Euro 2008.

Valencia last season finished a disappointing 10th in the Liga, mainly under the stewardship of Ronald Koeman, whose training methods did not find favour with all.

Emery, meanwhile, guided Almería to a top half finish in his first ever Primera assignment.
