Zaragoza In Nilmar Move

Nilmar has been a regular presence in Internacional's attack and his nine goals in the Brazilian league have caught the eye of the Spanish outfit.

Zaragoza have been rebuilding their squad in the close-season following their shocking relegation to the second division and have identified Nilmar as the right piece to replace Diego Milito, who has been linked with a summer move.

Nilmar, 24, enjoyed European football in 2004 when he played for Lyon, but he failed to make his mark at Stade Gerland and was loaned out to Corinthians a year later.

He is now looking forward to a new experience in the old continent and is hoping that a switch to Zaragoza will further his career.

According to GloboEsporte, Zaragoza have had a €12 million offer for Nilmar rejected but have not given up on their pursuit of the striker yet and are preparing an improved offer.

"The people responsible for the negotiations are in Spain. The club won't give up, they will do everything they can to try to sign Nilmar," the player's agent, Orlando da Hora, told Rádio Bandeirantes.
