The left-winger has been linked with both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur this summer, despite his only previous spell in English football not producing the best of results with Manchester City.
He enjoyed something of a breakthrough campaign last season, making it into the Spain squad during the Euro 2008 qualifiers, but losing out during the Austria-Switzerland triumph due to his side's dramatic slump in form.
With Tottenham having signed David Bentley and Giovani dos Santos, they dropped out of the running to sign Riera, but Liverpool remained tenuously linked until Herrera, formerly a scout for the Reds, confirmed today that no offers have been made for the winger.
"We have received no offers for Albert Riera. Not from Liverpool or any other club," he told Sky Sports.
"We know what has been written in the newspapers, but this is the truth."
The player's agent, Magico Diaz, claimed Liverpool are interested in the 26-year-old, but will not meet Espanyol's demands. "Liverpool want Riera but Liverpool are reluctant to meet Espanyol's demands," he said.
