Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has admitted the Spanish giants may have to wait until next season to sign Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.
Rosell revealed that there are no talks ongoing regarding a possible deal between the two clubs, meaning a switch this summer looks unlikely.
Barca have made clear their intention of recapturing their former youth star, but it looks as though they may have to wait a little while longer.
"Arsenal feels very hurt by Barca," said Rosell to Catalan TV3.
"They don't want to listen to offers or sell and they are not putting the player (Fabregas) on the market.
"There was a strong dispute a few months ago and they have not forgotten it."
ValueBarca had reportedly had a bid of 29million euros rejected by the Gunners earlier this summer, with boss Arsene Wenger determined to keep the gifted Spain international.
Rosell now believes that the constant reports which have linked Fabregas with a return to Camp Nou have crushed any understanding the two sides may have had.
Although that appears to have blocked any possible move this summer, he remains confident Barca will get their man eventually, if not this term then next.
"He (Fabregas) will arrive, even if it is not now, it will be next year," said Rosell. "We will see."
He added: "One thing that is certain is that we will not go mad trying to sign him.
"No shareholder would pay 60 or 70million euros for him.
"We will not go all out for him. We would only pay his value in the transfer market."
