Former Denmark international Michael Laudrup has been appointed as the coach of Real Mallorca.
Laudrup replaces Gregorio Manzano at the helm following his surprise departure at the end of last season.
Mallorca enjoyed a fine campaign last season missing out on qualification for the Champions League on the final day of the campaign.
Laudrup has experience of working in Spain before having coached Getafe during the 2007-08 season.
The 46-year-old, who has been out of work since leaving Spartak Moscow last April, has signed a two-year deal with Mallorca and he is looking forward to the challenge.
"It will be an interesting and exciting challenge." Laudrup told Politiken .
"Thus far, I don't know the squad, but I imagine that the club will be forced to cut down on the squad and focus on youth development.
"It's truly new times in the world of football."
