Miguel Angel Nadal will return to Real Mallorca, where he made his name as a player, to assist new coach Michael Laudrup next season.
The former Spain defender started his career at Mallorca before enjoying an eight-year stint at Barcelona, helping the Camp Nou club to a host of silverware.
Nadal, who also made 62 appearances for Spain, then wound up his career at Mallorca, winning the Copa del Rey before announcing his retirement in 2005.
The 43-year-old, who is the uncle of tennis ace Rafael Nadal, is looking forward to working with his former team-mate Laudrup at his old stamping ground.
Excited"I am excited to return to Mallorca and, as always, I look at this with responsibility, with a will to teach and to learn," Nadal told Mallorca's official website .
"I feel lucky (to work with Laudrup). He's an ex-team-mate and a nice person, with an attractive playing philosophy - and we all hope we can enjoy a good season."
Meanwhile, Mallorca defender Ivan Ramis is delighted to get the chance to work with Nadal.
He said: "I am proud to have Nadal on the bench because I always admired him as a player and it's a luxury to have him as a coach alongside Laudrup."
