Toure shuns English interest

Yaya Toure has stressed that he wants to stay at Barcelona after being linked with a switch to the Premier League.

The Ivory Coast international fell down the pecking order at Camp Nou earlier this season and reports suggested he could leave during the January transfer window.

A transfer never materialised and Toure expressed his happiness with life at Barca, but speculation continued concerning his long-term future.

Toure, who has previously expressed an interest in one day moving to England, understands that Manchester City and Arsenal are monitoring his situation.

However, the 26-year-old has reiterated his commitment to Barcelona and hopes to remain with the Catalan giants for a long time to come.

"I have heard about interest from Manchester City and Arsenal but my future is at Barcelona," he said in the Daily Mirror .

"I have spoken to the directors at the club, but I don't want to leave and my only mission is to stay and be a success at the club."
