Barcelona are confident Gerard Pique will soon sign a new long-term deal with the club.
Negotiations with the Spain international have been ongoing for some time, with both parties expressing a desire to strike an agreement.
Pique is a Catalan native who returned to his roots in the summer of 2008 from Manchester United.
He has matured into one of Europe's most distinguished centre-halves during his time at Camp Nou and is now regarded as irreplaceable by the Barcelona board.
Talks between the Primera Liga giants and the 23-year-old defender are reported to be '90 per cent' complete, with just a few loose ends left to tie up.
Barca remain keen to have a sizeable buy-out clause inserted in the deal, with a €100million price tag widely touted.
