Barcelona defender Gerard Pique is expected to sign a new contract which will keep him at Camp Nou until 2015.
The classy centre-back's current deal expires in two years' time, but Spanish and European champions Barcelona are eager to deter potential admirers of the 23-year-old.
Manchester City were credited with an interest, but Pique is committed to his current club after joining from Manchester United in 2008.
The Barcelona native is quoted as saying in Spanish media: "My objective is to stay with Barcelona because this is my home."
It has been reported that the new contract will also earn Pique a pay rise to a salary of €100,000-a-week (Ј90,000-a-week).
