Marcelo has signed a new contract with Real Madrid tying him to the club until 2015.
The Brazilian joined the Spanish giants from Fluminense in January 2007 as a long-term replacement for veteran full-back Roberto Carlos.
Carlos left Real for Turkish outfit Fenerbahce that summer and Marcelo has been a virtual ever-present for Los Blancos ever since.
The 21-year-old has now made almost 100 appearances for the Primera Liga side, with his buccaneering approach to the game fitting the Real philosophy perfectly.
The Samba star has won two Spanish titles and a Spanish cup during his time at Santiago Bernabeu and helped his country to a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics.
"Real Madrid and Marcelo Vieira have signed the contract renewal with which the player will remain tied to the club until June 2015," read a brief statement released on the club's official website .
