Srna's agent rules out Barca

Srnas agent rules out Barca

Darijo Srna could be heading to England after his agent all but ruled out a move to Barcelona.

The right-sided Croatia international has been a target for many of Europe's top clubs over the summer, with teams from the Premier League, Bundesliga and Primera Division rumoured to be in the race for his signature.

Barcelona had, at one point, seemed the most likely destination for the Shakthar Donetsk player, with Srna welcoming the approach from the Catalan giants.

But now Srna's agent, Damir Stimac, says that talks with Barcelona have stalled and a deal is unlikely to be agreed before the end of the transfer window.

"Yes, Barcelona wants him, it is not a new story. Some talks took place in June, but only 12 days are left in this transfer window so I think that he will not move to Barcelona," Stimac told Jutarnji list .

Not Easy

"Too many things have to be agreed, (like) his wage, as he is big player and he should earn at least 4 or 5 million euros per season.

"But taxes in Ukraine are lower than in Spain or England so it's not an easy transfer at all."

Stimac now thinks a move to the Premier League could be on the cards, with reports in the Croatian press indicating Chelsea are interested in a transfer.

He added: "But if a transfer happens, than my prediction is that he will not move to Barcelona. It is more likely that he will sign for club from England.

"We are talking about a club, which is right now selling a right-winger and the coach is just in love with Srna's style of play."
