Ukrainian defender Dymytro Chygrynsky says he feels 'lucky' after completing his big-money switch to Barcelona.
The 22-year-old centre back has moved from Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal worth a reported 25million euros (Ј22 million).
The player, who featured for Shakhtar in their 1-0 defeat to Barca in Friday's European Super Cup, has completed a medical and signed his contract, the European and Spanish champions confirmed on their website.
He told Barca TV : "I feel lucky to sign for Barca. I'm hoping to improve and form a part of this great team.
Tough choice"It wasn't easy (to leave Shakhtar). Shakhtar thought they would be involved in the Champions League.
"What's more they have just opened a new stadium and the president wanted me to stay."
Chygrynskiy is the Catalan giant's third summer signing after Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and defender Maxwell joined from Inter Milan.
Barca begin the defence of their Spanish league title at home to Sporting Gijon on Monday night, in a game being shown live on Sky Sports 1 at 9pm.
