Robben wraps up Bayern move

Robben wraps up Bayern move

Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Arjen Robben from Real Madrid and the former Chelsea man goes straight into the weekend squad to face Wolfsburg.

The new acquisition is set for his debut in Saturday's Bundesliga clash against last season's champions after sealing a switch from the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Dutch winger has been awarded the number 10 shirt last worn at Bayern by his compatriot Roy Makaay after he passed a medical and signed a four-year contract in Munich.

Both clubs have agreed on an undisclosed fee for the 25-year-old, believed to be in the region of Ј22million.

German welcome

Robben said Bayern had "given me a good feeling" from the moment they first signalled their interest in signing him.

"I feel very welcome here," he told the club's official website .

"This is a big club with a great history and I am delighted to be here now."

Speculation has been rife in the last 24 hours about a potential swap deal seeing the much-coveted Frank Ribery heading the other way.

But the noise coming from the German giants is the same as it has been all summer - the Frenchman is going nowhere - and Bayern boss Luis Van Gaal feels he has the final piece of the jigsaw in Robben.

He said: "I am very happy to have another creative player, He is an explosive player."
