Real confirm Sneijder sale

Real Madrid have confirmed a deal that sends Holland midfielder Wesley Sneijder to Inter Milan has been reached.

Reports were already suggesting that the move was imminent, but now Real have confirmed the transfer on their official website.

"Real Madrid C.F. and F.C. Inter Milan have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Wesley Sneijder to the Italian club," the club stated.

Sneijder had previously stated that he did not want to leave the Bernabeu, but admitted on Thursday that he was heading to the Serie A giants.

The transfer fee has not been yet been revealed but is reported to be worth around €15million, with €3million of that linked to objectives.

The 25-year-old is thought to have signed a lucrative five-year contract at the Giuseppe Meazza, but Inter have not yet officially announced the move.

Sneijder had been told he was not needed by Real, although he has claimed he was initially part of new coach Manuel Pellegrini's plans.
