Brazilian outfit Internacional are close to agreeing a deal for Atletico Madrid's Cleber Santana.
According to reports in South America, the defensive midfielder is set to head back to his homeland in a Ј2million switch.
The 27-year-old is expected to sign a three-year contract with his new employers, despite Internacional vice-president Fernando Carvalho claiming that there are still a few minor details to iron out before the transfer goes through.
"It's not true that we have already reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid, but we may do so early next week," said Carvalho.
"We can't make an official announcement when we don't have an agreement in place because we can't distract a player who is about to play an important match for his current team in the Champions League."
Cleber Santana began his career at Santos before moving to Spain in 2007.
During his time in the Primera Liga he took in a season-long loan spell at Real Mallorca in 2008/09.
