The Spanish league programme could be hit by strike action later this month as the players' union consider what to do about unpaid wages.
The Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE) have refused to rule out the possibility of going on strike across the Liga Nacional Futbol Profesional (LNFP) from 16th April to 19th April.
The AFE have been in talks for some time over action regarding unpaid wages, particularly to players in the lower divisions.
And the potential stoppage would affect a key weekend towards the end of the season, with Barcelona's trip to city rivals Espanyol among the highest-profile fixtures scheduled for that period.
Real Madrid's match against Valencia and Villarreal versus Atletico Madrid, along with a crucial showdown between Numancia and Hercules in the Segunda Division promotion race, are also under threat.
SolutionAFE chief executive Luis Manuel Rubiales Behar, a former Levante player, issued a statement in which his organisation vowed to "continue with the (negotiations) with the Government of Spain through Superio Sports Council (CSD), the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the LNFP to sign a Grand Alliance for Spanish football."
The statement continued: "We require a solution to the serious problems confronting all levels of our game, and that hurt the players who are active in them.
"The claims are conducted with the support of all the players and have the sole purpose of ensuring compliance with contracts that as of today are unfulfilled, for last season and this and in future years."
