Real Madrid hope that Kaka will be passed fit to play in El Clasico against Barcelona amid reports that the Brazil star is in danger of missing the World Cup.
The playmaker has been sidelined for the past month with a hernia problem and it is hoped that a period of rest will remove any need for surgery.
Real are desperate to have Kaka fit for Saturday's meeting with Primera Liga title rivals Barcelona at the Bernabeu and are waiting for advice from medical experts.
However, reports persist that the 27-year-old, who has struggled since his move from AC Milan last summer and suffered from a similar injury in the winter, requires an operation which could rule him out of the forthcoming World Cup.
But Real director general Jorge Valdano remains optimistic, saying: "If the doctors give the authorisation, then Kaka will play against Barcelona."
