Raul admits he is not guaranteed to be at Real Madrid next season, but has no plans to slip into retirement.
The experienced frontman has been part of the set-up at Santiago Bernabeu since joining the youth ranks in 1992.
Now 32-years-old, he has a contract for life which is automatically renewed if he plays 30 games in a season.
He has achieved that feat this term, meaning he is free to remain with Real for at least another year.
However, with first-team opportunities becoming increasingly difficult to come by, he admits that the time may have come to wave goodbye to the capital giants.
"I'm not going to retire at the moment," he said.
"I hope to see out the next year of my contract.
"We'll see what happens at the end of the season. I want to continue playing football."
ConfidentRaul is hoping to sign off this season with another Primera Liga title, with Real having closed back to within a point of league leaders Barcelona with five games remaining.
"The team are confident," he added.
"I believe we are going to win the league, but what we are certainly going to do is fight to the max to achieve it.
"We are aware that at the moment we are not depending on ourselves in order to be champions.
"But it is clear that if we win the remaining five games we will have more options."
