Ibrahimovic - No Pep talk

Ibrahimovic - No Pep talk

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has claimed there has been a significant breakdown in his relationship with Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.

The Sweden international could be set to leave Camp Nou after just one season with AC Milan in talks over bringing him back to Italy.

Ibrahimovic only joined Barca from Milan's city rivals Inter 12 months ago in a big-money deal which saw Samuel Eto'o head in the opposite direction.

The sought-after striker revealed that the last six months have seen a wall of silence between himself and Guardiola.

Ibrahimovic told Sky Italia : "I haven't spoken to Guardiola for six months.

"I do not know the reason for this, but there are certainly problems.

"As for Milan, for now, I do not know anything about a possible move, so I will remain a Barcelona player.

"But I would like to play alongside a player such as Ronaldinho."

Difficult

When asked about Ibrahimovic's comments, Guardiola told a press conference: "We have no problem of communication. For the good of the club it's best not to say anything.

"There's always a reason, but I'm not going to explain it now. I'm very communicative.

"When it's the right time I'll give my opinion."

Guardiola added about the Swede's future: "If after the 31st (transfer deadline day) he's still a Barcelona player I will treat him as such."

Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola admitted that there is unlikely to be a swift resolution to the saga.

He told Radio 24 : "It's a difficult negotiation, the parties are so far from an agreement, we are still in the process of discussions.

"Ibrahimovic is following the progress of the talks. It will be a long week, made up of meetings and conferences, but Ibrahimovic has a club that is not asking him to leave, so he is calm."
