Dervite makes Spurs exit

Defender Dorian Dervite is set to complete a move from Tottenham to Villarreal on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old Frenchman, who was signed from Lille by former Spurs manager Martin Jol in 2006, has made just one senior outing for the club since his arrival.

Tottenham have now agreed a deal for the centre-back to leave White Hart Lane and link up with the Spanish side.

Dervite's only first-team match was a Carling Cup tie against Port Vale four years ago, after which he sustained a serious knee injury.

He joined Southend on loan for four months in early 2009 after failing to make an impact on current Spurs boss Harry Redknapp.
