Saviola considering Real exit

Saviola considering Real exit
Javier Saviola has set his sights on a summer move away from Real Madrid, according to the player's agent.

The Argentine forward was strongly linked with a transfer to Portsmouth in the winter transfer window but an agreement was not struck.

Saviola has continued to struggle for first-team football at the Spanish giants and his agent, Alfredo Cabrera Brizuela, has intimated that an exit is now likely.

It is reported that Newcastle United are interested in the 27-year-old with a deal dependent on whether they avoid relegation, but the club have yet to comment on the speculation.

Brizuela said: "Javier has a deal with Real Madrid until 2010 but he has decided to leave as he has not had many opportunities this season.

"It is true that some clubs have asked about Saviola, but we will attend a meeting at the beginning of June to resolve the issue.

"Saviola is still young and still offers much to the game. Clubs from England and Italy have contacted us."
