Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez will miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury against Chelsea.
Marquez was hurt during the early stages of the second half of the 0-0 draw in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final at Camp Nou.
The Mexican was bringing the ball into the Chelsea half of the pitch when the injury occurred with no opposition players in close attendance.
He was replaced by Carles Puyol and an early assessment from the Barcelona medical staff has indicated meniscus damage in the left knee.
The injury is severe enough to rule Marquez out of the remaining weeks of the season, while further tests will be carried out on Wednesday.
Barca coach Pep Guardiola now faces a major defensive headache for the second leg at Stamford Bridge after Puyol was ruled out through suspension.
Puyol was booked for a challenge on Michael Essien, although he is available to partner Gerard Pique at the back for Saturday's crunch game with Real Madrid in La Liga.
