Barcelona star Lionel Messi confesses that he could play in the Premier League at some point in the future.
The 21-year-old, who is preparing for Wednesday's UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg with Chelsea, has previously stated his desire to remain at Camp Nou for the duration of his career.
However, 2009 World Player of the Year candidate Messi has now hinted that he may be interested in a move to England in later seasons.
Although the Argentina international maintains that he is happy with Barca, his recognition of the quality of the Premier League could alert the wealthy likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City.
"The football in England is great, just as it is in Spain," Messi told Uefa's official website .
Brilliant"But for now I'm very settled and feel really valued at Barcelona.
"I know the Premier League is a great league, but Barcelona is a big part of my life and I'm not thinking of anything else.
"With time, we'll see. You never know."
Meanwhile, Messi remains modest about his chances of being named World Player of the Year after missing out on the accolade in 2008 to Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.
"I don't know if I am the best player in the world. At the moment Cristiano Ronaldo has the title," he added.
"I don't pay too much attention to it. I'm not worried about it. If they give me the award, that's brilliant because you enjoy these prizes. If not, that's absolutely fine too."
